Model Change of Main Hydraulic Type Molding Machines "FN Series"
| March 2005 [News Release] |
As part of complete revision of hydraulic type injection molding machines, Nissei Plastic Industrial Co., Ltd., has changed a model of its main high precision injection molding machines, the "FN Series", by means of the loading of a new type controller "TACT" and new injection mechanism, and the optimization of hydraulic circuits of every kind.
The company will start receiving orders as the "New FN Series" in April.
The "FN Series" is the company's best-seller machine of which overwhelming sales achievements, in which Nissei Plastic takes pride, reached a cumulative total of about 10,000 units (as of December 2004) since the launch of its full-scale sales in 1996. The machine has favorably received customers thanks to its reliability of user-friendliness and excellent durability including a direct pressure clamping mechanism based on the company's abundant actual achievements.
However, the recent market has shifted on a large scale to electric type molding machines which have features repeated stability centered on position control by a servomotor, and an outstanding energy-saving characteristic, therefore the Japanese molding machine manufacturers' shipment ratio of electric type molding machines has become very high. While the properties of electric type molding machines are gaining popularity, there are many opinions to doubt whether the exclusive devotion to electric type molding machines is right because the machines have problems such as abrasion (service life) of a ball screw, and much quantity of grease supply (environmental problem) to a ball screw and a toggle type mold clamping mechanism.
With the "New FN Series" at this time, the company intends to satisfy the various needs in molding sites by making various kinds of improvements on weak points (strong points of electric type machines) of conventional hydraulic type machines by means of a model change, aiming for more increased sales in the Asian and North American markets including the domestic market.
Various points improved are as follows:
| 1. |
Production start-up response:
Reduced to about 1/3 (as compared with a conventional machine). |
| 2. |
Molding stability (unevenness in quantity and quality):
Decreased to about 1/2 (as compared with a conventional machine). |
| 3. |
Little unevenness of molding due to fluctuation of oil temperature:
Decreased to about 1/2 (as compared with a conventional machine). |
| 4. |
Realization of more energy-saving:
Reduced about 30% (at dry operation) (as compared with a conventional machine). |
As mentioned above, the image of conventional machines has been completely changed.
* Comparison of performance between the conventional FN2000 type machine and the new model machine both with a mold clamping force of 1100 kN (110 tons).
These improvements have been achieved by means of (1) the loading of a new type controller "TACT", (2) the loading of a new injection mechanism, (3) the optimization of hydraulic circuits of every kind.
(1) The new controller "TACT"
| 1. |
High speed scanning time of 500 microseconds. (1/2,000 sec.)
As compared with a conventional machine, it actualizes high speed of about twice as much, and repeated stability of about tenfold. |
| 2. |
It is equipped with six languages of English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and Spanish as standard, which can be switched through one-touch operation. It is effectively utilized for global development of molding plants. |
| 3. |
The display function of "the operation record of 1,000 items" is effective for overseas plant management. |
| 4. |
The ladder programming function accessible to customers. (Delivery of signals to simple peripheral equipment can be done at a job site) |
| 5. |
A LAN connecter and a USB connecter are equipped as standard. Quality analysis and operation analysis at a plant becomes possible by connecting a new quality and production management system, the "PQ Manager" (optional) with LAN. It is also endowed with a function capable of remote monitoring of overseas plants. (optional) |
| 6. |
A 12.1-inch color liquid crystal screen. (It has a tilt structure of which screen angle can be changed in conforming to an operator) |
(2) The new injection mechanism
| 1. |
The efficiency of plasticization is improved by loading a new design screw with a large L/D (useful length) and a heating cylinder. |
| 2. |
By means of segmentation of temperature control into 5 zones (4 zones up to now), a temperature sensor is placed on the most appropriate location, achieving ideal temperature control and plasticization. |
(3) Optimization of hydraulic circuits of every kind
| 1. |
By raising the efficiency of hydraulic pressure transmission through reduction of pressure loss in hydraulic circuits, optimization of all kinds of timing works and valve characteristics, and decrease of sliding resistance, both energy-saving effect and repeated stability have been improved. |
| 2. |
A pressure sensor is adopted for detection of mold clamping pressurization in order to actualize the most appropriate mold clamping processing time. Specifications friendly to a molding site have been added, which permit reduction of loss time and set-up of a mold clamping force of extremely low pressure. |
| 3. |
The stability at low mold opening speed of less than 30 mm/sec is improved by adding a creeping speed mold opening mode. It demonstrates effect in decreasing defects in mold release of molded products. |
There are 8 models in the "FN Series" from "FN1000" with a mold clamping force of 794 kN (80 tons) to "FN8000" of 4460 kN (460 tons).
