Development of a new ultra compact all-electric type molding machine as augmentation of ultra compact molding machines for micromolding use.

Nissei Plastic Industrial Co., Ltd. has developed and started overseas sales of an ultra compact all-electric type injection molding machine with a mold clamping force of 5 tons (49 kN), as the enrichment of the machines for micromolding use (minute and microscopic molding use), the "ELJECT EP5 Real Mini."
Recently, micromolding has attracted considerable attention as minute, microscopic and small-volume molding. This molding meets the requirements for miniaturization, weight reduction and making thin-wall of products. It also aims at improving productivity and reducing initial costs. It has various advantages such as easiness and streamlining of production number control, making high quality products and simplification of inspection processes by means of single-cavity molding of precision parts, resin consumption saving, reduction in mold costs, and dealing with production of small quantity lots of various kinds.
In order to operate this micromolding, it is important to adopt a molding machine with the most suitable mold clamping force for weight and measurements of molded products. Our company already has put electric machines of 3 tons (AU3E) and 7 tons (HM7 DENKEY) to practical use, being ahead of other companies. We have abundant business performance in domestic and foreign markets which is being appreciated.
The ultra compact electric molding machine, "ELJECT EP5 Real Mini," is an all-electric type machine developed by the company for molding of products with one shot weight of about 0.5 gram to 5 grams.
The characteristics of the molding machine are as follows:

In order to make minute molding of extremely small-volume possible, the machine is loaded with a dedicated injection unit, and high responsiveness of a quick injection response of 0.03 second has been materialized by means of a center drive system which directly connects a servomotor for driving use to a ball-screw. |

High precision temperature control has been made possible by means of improving the screw and increasing the temperature control point of a heating barrel to 6 points (4 points are usual for this class). Therefore, precision plasticizing kneading of crystalline polymers such as engineering plastics becomes possible, and high cycle molding of less than 4 seconds can be aimed at. |

By means of equipping a high performance nozzle which is used for our company's dedicated machine for connectors, stringiness and drooling of resin are prevented. Further, an appropriate nozzle can be chosen which is suitable for a resin to be used. |
In regard to the mold clamping mechanism;

Since uniform mold clamping force can be transmitted to a mold by means of using a direct pressure mold clamping unit with 4 tie bars, the service life of a mold is lengthened and precision stable molding becomes possible. |

It is the only machine in this class with wide tie bar designing on which a 150x150 mm mold can be mounted. |

A linear guide way is used as a guide for both movable and stationary platens. It has a high precision structure which improves static (parallels, perpendiculars) and dynamic (stability at mold opening/closing) properties. |
This machine is mounted with a controller, the "NC9300T," with a 10.4 inch TFT color liquid crystal screen of a thin type broad visual field.
Furthermore, an "infrared ray" mold monitor can be mounted as an option for the first time in the industry. Unlike existing types, as the feature of this equipment, high precision monitoring can be conducted without being affected by extraneous disturbance light. Also it makes possible to detect faults of products including black-colored ones, being not influenced by color.
This "ELJECT EP5 Real Mini" and the "NP7 Real Mini" (a hydraulic type) which has been put on the market earlier, are both molding machines intended for the extremely tiny precision product industry. The machines demonstrate respective advantages of an electric type and hydraulic type.
