Nissei Plastic Industrial Co., Ltd. presents injection molding machine made in 1959 to Nippon Institute of Technology (Museum of Industrial Technology)
Nissei Plastic Industrial Co., Ltd. presented the manual injection molding machine "YD1," which was made in 1958 and has been exhibited so far at the data library of the company, to the Museum of Industrial Technology of Nippon Institute of Technology (at Miyashiro-machi, Minami Saitama-gun, Saitama; Director: Professor Kenichi Matsuno). The "YD1" (clamping force: 30 tons) presented to the museum this time was delivered to Ishida Press Industry Co., Ltd. (with the head office at Nakano-ku, Tokyo) on August 23, 1958, operating for 40 years and 8 months until April 22, 1999. Right after that, Nissei purchased the machine from Ishida Press and exhibited it at the data library of Nissei. The "YD1" was mass produced for sales in 1957. The machine was highly rated as a "fast injection molding machine" because it was an epochal hydraulic type that permitted fast molding operation. The machine can be said to have established the foundation of our company, selling 848 units within seven years. The Museum of Industrial Technology of Nippon Institute of Technology was opened on the campus of the Institute as one of commemorative projects planned in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the educational institution. The Museum open to junior high school, senior high school, and university students, as well as to the general public, is exhibiting machine tools that have contributed to the development of industry and many other industrial machines concerning product making, thereby contributing to the society. The Museum is making efforts to increase the kinds of exhibits toward the commemorative year that comes in three years, when the 100th anniversary of the educational institution, the 40th anniversary of the Institute, and the 20th anniversary of the Museum are to be held. As part of the efforts to increase the exhibits, the Museum examined injection molding machines, which had not been exhibited yet and had been developed as precision industrial machines. Nissei decided to present the "YD model" that has a historical value when so asked by the Museum.
