First in Industry to Achieve Shipment of 100,000 Advanced Injection Machines
| February 2006 [News Release] |
Nissei Plastic Industrial held a ceremony in January 19 to mark the cumulative shipment of 100,000 unit injection molding machines. This is the first time that this has been achieved in the industry by a supplier of advanced, high-end injection molding machines.
The ceremony was held at the headquarters technical center and given its importance in marking a major stage in the company's history of the 100,000 unit machine shipment, it was attended by about 70 persons, including directors of the company headed by company president Yoda, subcontractors of Nissei, and persons affiliated with the plastics industry.
The 100,000 unit machine was an all-electric ELJECT NEX50 injection molding machine.
Nissei progressed from it's 90,000 unit machine to its 100,000 unit in the short space of less than three years. This was achieved in large part due to support from the strong demand for injection molding machines in 2003 and 2004, as well as steady demand for the new all-electric ELJECT NEX series machines that debuted in July 2003.
With regards to achieving the milestone of reaching 100,000 unit shipments, president Yoda said, "I am very happy indeed that we have reached cumulative injection molding machine shipments of 100,000 units. We were able to achieve this through the loyal support of our many customers. At this time, I would like to reaffirm our intent to of course serve the best interests of everyone in the molding community, as well as make the world a better place through plastics."
Nissei started full-fledged manufacture and sales of injection molding machines in October 1957, and shipped machine No. 10,000 in July 1972. This was followed by the 20,000th in July 1976, the 30,000th in March 1982, the 40,000th in February 1986, the 50,000th in August 1989, the 60,000th in September 1992, the 70,000th in March 1996, and the 80,000th in July 1999. Machine No. 90,000 was shipped in January 2003.
