Nissei exihibits three state-of-the-art injection molding machines at "Chinaplas 2006"
| March 2006 [News Release] |
Nissei Plastic Industrial will exhibit some of its latest machinery, including a hybrid injection molding machine and an electric vertical injection molding machine, at the upcoming Chinaplas 2006 Show, to be held April 26-29 in Shanghai.
1. Hybrid compact precision injection molding machine: ECOJECT PNX40
This machine is a 405-kN (41-ton) clamping force type from the PNX Series that debuted on the market in September last year, which features equivalent energy saving effects to electric molding machines.
At the show, under the theme of realizing ultimate energy savings and high response, molding of a 2.5-inch thin light guide plate will be demonstrated.
The main characteristic of the PNX Series is hybridization through adoption of the newly developed X Pump system, which combines servo motor drive technology and hydraulic drive technology as the driving source for the molding machine. Through this, outstanding energy saving effects on a par with electric machine types (about 40% lower than Nissei's hydraulic machines) has been realized.
Besides the main characteristic of ultimate energy savings, this series possesses various other characteristics that combine the advantages of hydraulic machines and electric machines.
| 1. |
Almost the same low noise as electric machines through adoption of servo motor drives. |
| 2. |
Injection speed is available over a wide range from an ultra-low speed of 1 mm/s up to a high speed of 300 mm/s, while injection ramp up time is only 0.05 s, representing high response. |
| 3. |
Because a high injection holding pressure can be maintained for an extended period, the series can be readily deployed for molding of thick products such as lenses. |
| 4. |
Because energy loss is low, the oil volume used has been reduced by about 55% compared with existing hydraulic machines. |
| 5. |
Almost no water is required for hydraulic oil cooling. |
| 6. |
Machines are priced lower than electric machines. |
In addition, a new flat clamp direct clamping mechanism is employed as the clamping mechanism.
The main features are 1) a more uniform transmission of precise clamping force to the mold, 2) low (appropriate) setting of clamping force is readily accomplished, and this is an effective measure for saving energy, prolonging the life of the machine and mold, and reducing rejects caused by degassing and short shots, 3) long-term maintaining of parallelism of clamping mechanism, 4) effective for thick molds, and 5) shorter time required for changing molds for production of multiple batches in small lot sizes.
2. Electric vertical injection molding machine: ELJECT TNS50RE
This machine is a 490-kN (50-ton) type belonging to the TNS-RE Series that was newly developed primarily for the automotive industry. A turntable clamping unit is adopted, while center injection is employed (vertical injection with respect to the injection molding machine), and through a compact design of the machine overall, a small machine footprint is achieved. A flexible layout can also be adopted, with automation equipment able to be positioned in three directions, while a runner take-out unit can also be installed opposite the machine operation side.
At the show, under the theme of high-speed operation and space saving, molding of a cooking spatula will be demonstrated through manual inset.
Characteristics of mechanism aspects of this series
Injection mechanism
| 1. |
Using the injection unit from the NEX Series that has already earned a good reputation from end users, in addition to standard and high speed specifications, a high load specification can also be chosen for thick products such as optical components. |
| 2. |
Through a function that allows simultaneous raising of the temperatures of the nozzle and heating cylinder, carbonization and degradation of the resin in the nozzle is prevented. |
| 3. |
Through revising the nozzle and heating cylinder temperature control, increased reproducibility of plasticizing has been achieved through more precise resin temperature control. |
| 4. |
Through adoption of a load cell to directly detect the screw reaction force and improved controllability, high precision back pressure control has been enabled. |
Clamping mechanism
| 1. |
Because the three tiebar shaft turntable features a wide design, larger molds can be mounted, and the ease of setting up a mold is substantially improved. |
| 2. |
High speed, low vibration, smooth rotation is achieved. The table rotation time (180-degree rotation) is 1.2 seconds for a 50-ton machine. |
| 3. |
A high precision rotation position setting mechanism is fitted. |
In addition, the dedicated TACT controller boasts an industry-leading injection control cycle of 100 microsec. (one-thousandth of a second), while numerous control programs required for molding, such as holding pressure position control, are incorporated as standard. Menus in six languages, including Japanese, English, and Chinese, are featured as standard, and they can be switched between through one touch. In this way, the series incorporates numerous features that enable its effective utilization on molding shops on a global basis.
Besides these machines, Nissei plans to exhibit a new hybrid injection molding machine "FNX110" that adopts the same X Pump system as employed in the PNX Series.
