New Compact Vertical Machine Commercialized as Hybrid-type Molding Machine
Nissei Plastic Industrial recently debuted a compact vertical injection molding machine, the ST20-2V, as a hybrid-type injection molding machine that combines the advantages of electric and hydraulic machines. Nissei will start taking orders for the machine in June.
The new ST20-2V is based on the ST Series of hydraulic compact vertical molding machines, which have an extensive track record for use as automated hoop molding systems, and incorporates Nissei's popular X Pump system. The hybrid machine debuted this time has a clamping force of 196 kN (20 tons).
The machine responds to the market needs of automobile parts and electronic components that continue to get more and more precise. Furthermore, it boasts a compact design while realizing high response and energy savings.
The major attributes are:
| 1. |
Achieves an approximately 40% energy saving compared with Nissei's hydraulic vertical molding machines. |
| 2. |
Injection response time boasts approximately twice the response of Nissei's hydraulic vertical molding machines. |
| 3. |
Injection speed can be controlled in a stable manner in the ultra-low speed range and compared with Nissei's hydraulic vertical molding machines, injection speed is 1.3-time faster. |
| 4. |
Through featuring digital setting as standard for ejectors, superior operability and better performance have been achieved. |
| 5. |
Compact (space-saving) and low cost. |
| 6. |
Adoption of a tiebarless clamping mechanism that is highly suited to insert molding. |
The dedicated NC21 Controller employs a bright and easy-to-read liquid crystal display and parameter setting is by way of a touch panel. An easy-to-operate selector switch is also employed.
The machine comes prepared with three types of mold movement: single-stage, slide, and turntable, and these can be selected depending on the application.
The X Pump System was developed in the fall of 2004, and was awarded the "Director General of the Agency of Natural Resources and Energy Award," which was presented at the "2006 (27th) Implementation of Energy Conserving Machinery Awards" by The Japan Machinery Federation. It is a hybrid-type molding machine based on Nissei's original new concept that is totally different from traditional hybrid-type molding machines.
