Nissei exhibits latest three injection molding machines at DMP 2008
| October 2008 [News Release] |
Nissei Plastic Industrial is participating in the upcoming 10th China Dongguan International Plastics, Packaging, Rubber, Die-casting & Foundry Exhibition (DMP), to be held in the city of Dongguan, China, November 19 through 22. Three hybrid injection molding machines that utilize its X Pump System, which combines the advantages of both electric and hydraulic drive, will be on show: two from its ANX Series of Asian strategic machines together with the FNX140.
Exhibited Machines
1. ANX40-5A, ANX80-9A
A new machine that pursues cost performance, while at the same time retaining the basic characteristics of the cornerstone FNX Series, developed for the China and ASEAN markets.
Through innovative hybrid control technology pioneered and cultivated by Nissei and adoption of a new type of controller, this high performance machine enables precision molding, while focusing solely on the required performance. At the show, the 40-tonne clamping force ANX40 will demonstrate molding of a 0.5-mm fine pitch connector, and the 80-tonne clamping force ANX80 will demonstrate molding of an IC tray.
Nissei's VOLTIGA high-performance composite material will be used in the molding of the IC tray by the ANX80 machine. This molding material is manufactured and marketed by the company's new nanomaterials business unit. This composite material is compounded using proprietary uniform dispersion technology for the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) employed in the resin matrix, and it can confer superior properties to the molded product such as electrical and thermal conductivity, strength and surface flatness.

2. FNX140-25A hybrid injection molding machine
This machine is a hybrid molding machine with clamping force of 140 tonnes that utilizes the X Pump system that has become the mainstay machine type for our company. At the show, it will demonstrate molding of a small case.
The key characteristic of Nissei's hybrid-type molding machines is the Hybrid X Pump System that adopts the innovative X Pump System. This Hybrid X Pump System combines servomotor drive technology and hydraulic drive technology as the driving source for the injection molding machine and it is totally different from standard hybrid systems. By controlling the rotation of the servomotor, the motor provides driving power only when required (it stops when not required).
As a result, up to an approximately 55% reduction in energy consumption is achievable compared with Nissei hydraulic machines and furthermore, compared with conventional hydraulic machines, energy efficiency has greatly improved and for this reason, rise in the temperature of the hydraulic oil is suppressed and cooling water requirements are thereby reduced. As a result, reductions in cooling water facility (such as cooling towers) expenses as well as maintenance costs are possible.
In addition, this machine can handle a wide range of molding tasks from thin wall to thick wall on account of a wide applicable range of injection speeds from low to high speed and the capability of applying high injection holding pressure for extended periods.
The clamping mechanism adopted is the same direct clamping type that is employed in the hydraulic FN (PN) series, for which Nissei boasts a delivery record of 10,000 machine units.
The major features are:
| 1. |
An accurate clamping force is distributed more uniformly to the mold. |
| 2. |
Low (appropriate) setting of clamping force can easily be done, and this is effective in terms of saving energy, prolonging the life of the molding machine and molds, and countering defects caused by gassing and short shots, etc. |
| 3. |
Long-term maintaining of clamping mechanism parallelism. |
| 4. |
Effective for thick molds (deep item molding, hot runners, three plate). |
| 5. |
Shorter mold changing time for production of multiple small lots. |
