Deciding to reexhibit at NPE 2009 that will be held in June

May 2009 [News Release]

Nissei Plastics Industrial Co., Ltd. has recently decided to reexhibit at NPE 2009, which will be held in June in Chicago, Illinois USA, after previously canceling its participation.

Nissei's decision to reexhibit at this year's NPE was due to the host, Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI), being concerned over a rapidly dwindling number of NPE participants who have been affected by the worsening economy. Top SPI officials arrived in Japan in early March and met President Yoda of Nissei, which previously canceled its participation in this year's NPE. They explained in earnest the importance and influence of Japanese injection molding machine manufacturers participating in NPE. After they proposed an aid plan for exhibitors and pleaded for Nissei to reexhibit at this year's NPE, Nissei decided to fully support NPE 2009 by reexhibiting at the show.

Nissei's exhibition space will be 4,400 square feet, half the size of the original exhibition space. Three types of molding machines will be displayed, including the hybrid type liquid silicon rubber molding system, FNX80-12ALM (fit for cleanroom) and molding demonstrations will be given using an environmentally friendly material made from biodegradable polymers, and VOLTIGA, a new high performance composite material will be presented.

Due to the worsening global economy, the capital expenditures of the main industries driving demand, such as the automotive and electronic component industries, have been rapidly diminishing. Under such horrible circumstances, Nissei told SPI in February that it had decided to cancel its participation in NPE that it had continued to participate since 1966 as the first Japanese injection molding machine manufacturer.
