NISSEI developed an electric type ultra high speed/high pressure molding machine for thin-wall products

Nissei Plastic Industrial Co., Ltd. has developed an electric type ultra high speed/high pressure injection molding machine NEX110-6EH, which was specifically designed for molding of thin-wall products, such as casings and light-guiding plates. It will be available for sale in April 2010.
East Asia centered around China is seeing increasing demands for thin-wall precision products, such as casings for mobile phones, thin light-guiding plates, thin-wall multimedia cards, and narrow pitch connectors. Thus, there have been strong needs for more sophisticated molding, which require improved yield, higher quality, and high cycle operations.
NEX110-6EH, based on NISSEI's flagship electric type injection molding machine NEX Series with the clamping force of 1,100kN (110ton), was developed as a new ultra high speed/high pressure type machine specifically designed for molding of thin-wall products.
The main characteristic of this machine is the newly designed ultra high speed injection mechanism for thin-wall molding, which is equipped with a low inertia servo motor. This enables the injection speed to reach 1,000mm/s, which is the fastest among its class, as well as achieving 3.5 times faster injection acceleration than conventional machines and improving the injection pressure to 295MPa (3,000kgf/cm2).
In addition, more stable plasticization and mixing made possible with an optimized plasticizing device.
The clamping mechanism was built based on a highly reputed high rigidity flat clamping type mechanism "linear pressure toggle," which has been used in standard NEX machines, with further reinforced rigidity of the die plate.
The clamping force feedback control was a function that materializes "linear pressure toggle." NISSEI effectively utilized their extensive experience and expertise in direct pressure clamping mechanism and created a toggle type mechanism, which can be used as if it is a direct pressure clamping mechanism.
This function (1)enables a mold to sustain the original precision for an extended period and (2)improves the mold protection function (low-pressure clamping), enhancing the performance of this clamping mechanism "Flat Clamp," which is ideal for high-cycle operation and precision molding.
